
The Royal Navy, won the Kiwi sponsored 2010 INTER SERVICES TWENTY20 TROPHY at Lord’s on Tuesday 27th July after a thrilling final against the Army.
The Royal Navy reached the Army target of 116, having required 50 runs with 5 overs to go and 17 runs from their final 2 overs. Cpl Alvin Pollard (Cdo Logs RM) steering the Navy home with 2 balls to spare. ETWE(SM) Matthew Thompson (HMS RALEIGH) having contributed with 50 from 52 balls, was later awarded The Man of the Tournament accolade from The President of the MCC, Mr John Barclay.
Earlier in the day, the Army (135 for 6) beat the Royal Air Force (80 all out). In the second match, the Royal Navy squeezed home having reached the RAF target of 141 with 1 wicket to spare, courtesy of a last ball boundary from Cpl Jon Grasham (CTCRM Lympstone).
